The finished scarf has 25 repeats of the Celtic pattern. I really like how the cables stand out. This yarn also has flecks of red in it.
Next up on the needles is another portfolio project, a Leaf Lace Shawl. I’m working a leaf lace repeat until the shawl is the size that I’d like (not sure how big I will make it yet). Then I’m planning on working a few rows of garter stitch with beads, and working a lace border. I found a really good tutorial on how to add borders to shawls. I’m excited to try it.

Awesome cables!
I love those cables - well done. And the leaf lace looks lovely. What sort of fibres will you be spinning?
Thank you! They were a little daunting at first, but I got the hang of it. Then they got monotonous :P.
I'll probably start off with wool. The distrbutor is sending me 4 ounces of practice fibre. The LYS also carries combed roving. I'll start simple and work my way up. I may also try to get my hands on a fibre sampler, so I can get used to the different varieties.
